Take Her To Athena started in 2010 and earlier this year released their debut EP.  The band are really starting to go places and we wanted you to get to know them.

Take Her To Athena are a 5 piece metalcore band based in Derby UK.  The band was founded in 2010 and has been working solidly since then on making music and getting out on tour.  In early 2013 they released their debut EP Chronicles, a great metalcore album definitely worth listening to.  The band describes their music as “head banging breakdowns” with “intricate riffs and heart felt vocals” and it definitely is.  The EP is everything metalcore should be and should continue to be.

The band lists their influences as metalcore monsters such as Parkway Drive and The Devil Wears Prada, and while the sound is similar the guitar parts, in particular, make a real difference to the bands overall sound.  The EP, Chronicles, is a 5 track who’s who of metalcore and shows off the technical ability of all of the band members.

The band have released two lyric videos – one official from their EP and a new single ‘Shadows and Light’ with a lyric video.  The band are also expecting to release a new follow up EP sometime in the near future; Scott Chesworth (guitar)said, “the new EP should be done by March/April time” he also said to “expect bigger and better things to come.  The new EP is going to have a lot more groove, and we are planning something big for the end of next year”

The band are constantly gigging and played throughout the UK over this summer, they have 2 upcoming shows to finish off 2013 and another show early next year.
